Joeli Walrath is a central Nebraska native and is proud to have strong agricultural roots. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Joeli’s journey with the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation has come full circle, starting as a scholarship recipient and now as the Development Officer.
Joeli is passionate about leaving everything better than we found it, including our communities. She believes that thriving communities truly support each other and are mindful of leaving a legacy that ensures future generations' success and happiness. As the Development Officer, Joeli is responsible for cultivating and strengthening relationships, developing engagement strategies, promoting philanthropic giving, educating the community about the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation, and serving as a community liaison.
Joeli had the honor of serving as Miss Rodeo Nebraska. She has been actively involved with non-profits as a volunteer and a board member for the last five-plus years. Joeli was honored to be named the 2024 University of Nebraska-Lincoln CASNR’s Young Alumni of Distinction. She has previous experience in fundraising, stakeholder and community engagement, communications, and public relations.
In her free time, Joeli enjoys traveling the country to rodeos, going on outdoor adventures, spending time with her family and her dog, and creative hobbies including drawing, painting, and sewing. Joeli looks forward to immersing herself in the greater Grand Island communities and stewarding relationships to build bright futures and leave legacies.
