Dori Wanitschke was born in Grand Island, Nebraska, and has 35 years of experience in banking operations and compliance management. After graduating from Doniphan High School, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in food science and management from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Early in her banking career, she served as cashier and controller for the State Bank of Litchfield and the Bank of Doniphan.
Dori served on the Hall County Leadership Tomorrow Board, was president of the Grand Island Zoological Association, and was a Nebraska LEAD fellow.
In 1996, Dori moved to Rancho Mirage, California, where she continued her banking career. She led the Electronic Banking Department at Palm Desert National Bank, where her staff deployed more than 8,000 ATMs in malls and casinos. She was also involved in the start-up of Canyon National Bank, where she served on the Loan Committee and managed compliance, deposit operations, and loan operations. She later moved to El Paseo Bank, where she was hired to address regulatory requirements related to bank-wide compliance, including risk assessments and audits.
While in California, Dori chaired the Athena Committee of Palm Springs and served on the Go Red for Women Committee of the American Heart Association in the Coachella Valley.
In 2013, Dori returned to Grand Island and currently manages the finances of the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation.
