Youth Philanthropy Board Grant

The Youth Philanthropy Board's grant program is designed to assist programs that provide innovative support and encourage better choices for youth in the Hall County area.

The Youth Philanthropy Board reviews requests annually, and awards grants up to $20,000 based on the project and the availability of funds. Please read through all of the eligibility and requirement information below to determine whether or not your organization is qualified to submit an application.

GRANT ELIGIBILITY

Youth Philanthropy Board Grant applications will be accepted from qualified 501(c)(3) organizations (or have a designated fiscal agent who is).

Organizations may only apply once per 12-month period, and if prior funding has been received, a final grant evaluation must be completed and accepted prior to applying for any additional funding.

Grants for the following purposes will NOT be considered:

  • To individuals
  • Religious or political purposes
  • Endowments, capital campaigns, or annual fund drives
  • Fundraising event sponsorships or creation of fundraising event collateral materials
  • Programs that create an indefinite, long-term commitment by the Youth Philanthropy Board
  • Requests for additional funding for projects that have already been approved and funded
  • For ongoing projects and programs, applicants must address funding for maintenance and operations.
  • Incomplete requests
GRANT REQUIREMENTS 

The Youth Philanthropy Board has one standard application for all grant requests. Only complete applications with all questions answered and required attachments will be reviewed by our Board of Trustees. No handwritten, faxed, or emailed proposals will be accepted.

To be considered, your proposal would have to demonstrate that the following requirements are met:

Youth in Hall County directly benefit from the program or project.

Preference will be given to organizations that provide innovative support to youth by:

  •  Programs and/or services that address drug & alcohol prevention and alleviate drug and alcohol abuse.
  •  Encouraging mentoring services (including peer-peer and adult-youth)
  •  Providing Mental and/or Physical Health support to youth (including general basic needs)
  •  Providing safe activities for youth.

The above funding initiatives are encouraged; however, not mandatory for funding. Preference will be given to applications targeting these initiatives. 

In addition to providing information about your organization and the project and/or program you are seeking funding for, you will be required to attach the following documents:

  • IRS Form 990 for your most recently completed fiscal year
  • Audited financial statements for your most recently completed year
  • A list of your board of directors that includes their name, office held, contact information, business affiliation, and board term dates
  • Your organization's current operating budget
  • Most recent IRS Letter confirming your organization's tax-exempt status, if applicable
  • Your organization's most recent annual report, if available.
  • Any additional documents (brochures, pictures, articles, etc.) you feel will help our understanding of your program and/or project.

GRANT APPLICATION

To be considered for funding, completed grant applications must be submitted by December 29, 2023, at 4:00 p.m.

Applications will not be accepted after the deadline, and access to the online grant application is closed promptly at 4 p.m. Grants and all supporting documents submitted become the property of the Youth Philanthropy Board.
