Congratulations on receiving a grant award!

The following guidelines are designed to assist you in promoting your organization or program. If you have any questions, email Sara Tall at stall@gicf.org.  The Greater Grand Island Community Foundation publicizes grants and grant stories through various media, including print, digital, and broadcast media, social media, publications, and our website. Please share your success stories and photos with us so that we can promote the partnerships that strengthen our community.

What you can do!
A grant from Greater Grand Island Community Foundation is a wonderful partnership between our organizations, and behind every one of those grants is a story of the good work being done to make our community better. Grants are available because of generous people, every grant awarded is an opportunity for us to couple together and acknowledge the donors that make these funds available. Donors need to know how their gifts are being utilized and the significant impact their contributions are making.

  1. Schedule your interview and/or check presentation in your Grant Agreement in your Grant Portal. (Here's a template to help prepare your organization representative for the interview.)    
  2. You can publicize Greater Grand Island Community Foundation's support in many ways:
    • Your website - Create a link to our website GICF.org. You can also include Greater Grand Island Community Foundation's logo where appropriate.
    • Contact local media - Using the press release template as a guide, contact local news organizations to let them know about your project and the grant provided by the Foundation. If you would like a quote, we would be happy to release one specific to your organization that attests to the great work that you doing in the community. Please share your press release with us, send it to stall@gicf.org.
    • Tell your community - Share information about the grant received from GGICF through your newsletters, annual reports, lists of supporters, and social media. When announcing the grant on social media, link us to Facebook, X (Twitter), and Instagram. In addition to your other hashtags, we encourage you to hashtag #greatergrandislandcommunityfoundation, #GGICF
    • Logo use - We encourage you to use the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation's logo when applicable. Please contact us if you need a different format of our logo. If the logo is being placed on a colored or photographic background, please use a transparent logo. Please do not skew or distort the logo's aspect ratio.

How to acknowledge a grant from the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation!
Use this language to acknowledge your grant from the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation:

  • This project is (funded/funded in part) by a grant from the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation.
  • This project was (funded/funded in part) by a grant from the Greater Grand Island Community Foundation Sample Fund.

Note: Please spell out "Greater Grand Island Community Foundation" rather than using GGICF abbreviation.
