Greater Impact Grants in Action

Five local organizations are putting new ideas, stronger programs, and better resources to work in Hall County thanks to $25,900 awarded through GGICF’s spring Greater Impact Grants.

Creating Pathways to Employment

Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska received $6,250 for its Employment Navigator Program, providing personalized guidance, job-readiness training, and ongoing support to help Hall County residents overcome barriers to employment and connect with local employers.

Building Kindness, Connection, and Resilience

EPIC Discovery Center was awarded $6,800 for Hall County Students Be Kind 4 Life, a collaborative effort with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Nebraska. The workshop will bring students in grades 6–12 together around kindness, connection, and youth mental health.

Preserving a Community Gathering Space

At Hargis House Woman’s Club, a $2,100 grant will help update furnishings in the historic gathering space, helping the organization better serve the groups and programs that use it.

Supporting the Arts

The arts are also getting a boost. Grand Island Little Theatre received $5,000 toward its 2026–2027 season musicals. Musicals attract some of GILT’s largest audiences while generating revenue that helps support additional productions throughout the season.

Bringing People Together

Finally, the YMCA of Grand Island was awarded $5,750 for its Community Engagement Programs, including free events, family activities, outreach, resource distribution, and community partnerships.

Generosity That Keeps Giving

These investments were made possible through several charitable funds held at GGICF, including the Fund for Greater Grand Island, Huwaldt Family Trust Fund, GGICF Children & Youth Grant Fund, Roger and Melodee Anderson Fund, GGICF Art Grant Fund, and the Buzz and Donna Douthit Charitable Field of Interest Fund. Together, they demonstrate how generosity given today and years ago continues to meet needs across Hall County.
