Youth Activity Scholarship

The Greater Grand Island Community Foundation is proud to offer scholarships for youth activities. The Grand Island Youth Activity Fund was started to provide scholarships that allow youth in the Grand Island area, regardless of financial resources, to participate in Grand Island activities and programs throughout the year. Scholarships will be provided that enable youth, regardless of financial resources, to participate in activities or programs outside of school sponsored clubs.

Activity scholarships are opened year round.

Eligibility:

  • Youth kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Youth participation fees for activities or programs such as art, dance, recreation, athletics, etc. (Exclusions: school sponsored clubs, travel expenses, camps, memberships, equipment and season passes)
  • Youth who qualify for the National School Lunch Program (School verification form is required)
  • Youth enrolled in a structured Grand Island community activity or program as approved by the Grand Island Community Foundation board
  • One scholarship (maximum of $100) per youth, per year

Requirements:

  • Request for assistance must be submitted on the approved form
  • Attach a copy of the completed registration form for the activity or program
  • Attach a copy of the National School Lunch Program verification form
  • Applications are due at least 4 weeks prior to the deadline for financial assistance when possible. The Grand Island Community Foundation will make every effort to process requests within 14 days.
