Guy Skodmin

Development Officer

Guy is a dedicated professional with a diverse background in community service, retail management, and entrepreneurial ventures. Originally from South Florida, Guy made Grand Island, Nebraska, his home in 2013, where he quickly integrated into the local community.

Guy's career journey reflects his passion for both animals and business. He has made significant contributions to the Central Nebraska Humane Society, fostering a commitment to animal welfare and community support. He also brings business expertise, having worked at Bosselman Enterprises and running a toy store at the former Conestoga Mall. This not only improved the local shopping environment but also demonstrated his commitment to the community through participation in the Adopt a Road program. His business was responsible for cleaning and maintaining the stretch of 13th Street to State Street along Highway 281 in front of the former Conestoga Mall.

Education has been a cornerstone of Guy's professional growth. He attended Western Governors University (WGU), majoring in Marketing, which equipped him with strategic insights and innovative approaches to business development.

Outside of work, Guy finds fulfillment in family life. Alongside his wife Bethany, they cherish raising their two energetic boys, Owen and Koda. Their beloved pets complete their household: two dogs named Kevin and Ellie and two cats, Minnie and Mr. Meow.

With a strong foundation in community involvement, business acumen, and a heart for family and animals, Guy continues to make a positive impact in Grand Island and beyond.
