Marci Tompkins

Program Officer

Marci is a Grand Island native and a graduate of Grand Island Senior High. She received her degree of Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences with an emphasis in education from the University of Northern Colorado. She joined the Grand Island Community Foundation team in 2019 as a Program Officer focusing on the foundations' educational initiatives.

She has previously taught for the Grand Island Public Schools serving as an extended reading teacher, integration specialist, 1st-grade teacher, and most recently a long term substitute. Marci has a passion for children which has led her to volunteer with the Engleman Elementary PTO and as a SHINE leader for Third City Christian Church. She also has been active in the Food for Thought program, and the Global Leadership Summit.

Marci and her husband, Corey, have three children, Mason, Madeline, and Olivia. She loves spending time with her family, watching her kids’ activities, being outdoors, cooking, or reading a good book!
