Lisa Thayer

Vice Chair

Lisa grew up on her family’s farm near Harrisburg, Nebraska.  She attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, receiving her undergraduate degree and then her Juris Doctorate from the Nebraska College of Law.  She worked as an attorney in Kansas City, Missouri, before returning to Grand Island in 1991 to marry her husband, Dan.  She worked for the City of Grand Island for 9 years, serving in the positions of Assistant City Attorney, Interim City Attorney, and Personnel Director.  She was a Certified Mediator for 15 years and has been an attorney with Thayer & Thayer, PC, LLO since 2005.

Lisa currently serves as a trustee for the Stuhr Foundation Board.  She is President of the Show Choir Board of Directors for Grand Island Senior High and is active in her church, where she is a dog handler for the Comfort Dog ministry.  Lisa and Dan have two daughters, Emily and Carolyn.
