Grand Island Pickleball Club

Grand Island, NE
New courts will not only benefit local players but will also draw players from out of town for tournaments.

Grand Island has over 200 pickleball players but zero courts actually made for the sport. When the Grand Island Pickleball Club decided to raise $125,000 — 25 percent of the cost for eight new courts — it turned to the foundation for help. The foundation helped set up a 501(c)(3) and handled all the logistics for the newly established fund.

“They’ve been so, so helpful,” said Nita Lechner, club president. Once built, the new courts will not only benefit local players but will also draw players from out of town for tournaments.
